Role Overview:

Paddy Power Betfair Creative Studio provides marketing communications to the Sportsbook, eGaming, Retail and brand campaign marketing teams for both Paddy Power and Betfair brands. The PPB Creative Studio team has five specialist areas Planning, Art/Copy, Digital, Motion and Print all based in the Dublin office with a head count of 22 staff. The team has the responsibility of all digital, online and print advertising, non-broadcast outputs across multiple products and global markets. It is a creative and fast paced environment which plays an integral part to the company’s ongoing performance in the sports and entertainment market place.

Overall Purpose of Job:

The Lead Digital Designer will hold a key position within the Creative Studio digital team and are expected to use a high level of expertise to deliver and encourage stunning digital concepts to meet internal client briefs and expectations. Working with professionalism, they will lead digital design projects and offer feedback to other team members, ensuring the high quality of the digital design work and presenting the expertise that has gone into the project. They will be a digital lead between creative studio team and the PPB digital marketing department, which includes meeting and presenting answers to digital creative briefs. The role will report into the Creative Studio, Digital Manager.

Main duties & responsibilities:

  • Enhance the digital design teams capability through leadership and inventive concepts
  • Staying up to date with industry trends and digital placements
  • Forging and executing on brand/brief digital ideas
  • Generate ideas and sell them into internal clients
  • Encouraging other team members to share and explore their ideas
  • Delegate tasks and provide support for less senior members of the digital team
  • Maintain a high standard and ensure only the best work is pushed live
  • Collaborate across the marketing/branding teams to drive up standards of digital creativity
  • Lead innovation by using researching and testing display platforms
  • Function as a one of the main points of contact for the digital marketing teams
  • Help identify potential project problems or issues before they arise

  • Significant industry or agency digital design experience (4+ years)
  • A portfolio/book that showcases the best of their work (PDF or Website)

Hard skills required:

Completion of a degree or certificate program in one or more of the following disciplines: Graphic Design, Visual Communication or Web Design. Project management experience will be an advantage. An excellent knowledge of Mac OS and following programmes/languages:

  • Photoshop
  • Illustrator
  • Sketch or similar
  • HTML 5 Editor e.g. Google Web Designer
  • Microsoft Office
  • HTML/CSS coding
  • Drawing skills
