Reporting Line: Director of HR Business Partnering

Role Overview/Purpose:

The Head of HR is responsible for partnering with the business and setting the people strategy that maps directly to business objectives and group outcomes for key business functions. The role has accountability for ensuring the business has the optimal organisational structures, people processes are efficient and supported by robust people policies and the capability and tools exist to enable attraction and retention of the best global talent.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Partner with the business to develop and implement a people strategy that maps directly to the PPB business strategy and delivers tangible business outcomes.
  • Build strong relationships with senior leaders and act as their trusted advisor.
  • Partner closely with the COEs which include; Talent Management, Talent Acquisition, Reward, HR Operations and Internal Comms to support the design and development of key HR initiatives.
  • Work as part of a wider HR team and partner with the other Heads of HR to deliver high quality, efficient and consistent HR initiatives and services across multiple locations and functions.
  • Provide expert input to organisation design and development underpinned by strong commercial management of people costs and people risks across functions.
  • Champion the talent agenda, develop and retain the highest-calibre individuals through talent mapping, succession planning, reward incentives, creating clear career paths and putting in place compelling development opportunities.
  • Use management information and data to deliver key insights to senior leadership teams and drive appropriate action plans
  • Own the delivery of HR policies and practices aligned to comply with best practice and legislation whilst effectively supporting business goals and maintaining a flexible, innovative performance culture.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experienced HR Professional with strong HRBP experience
  • Proven track record operating at a senior level, supporting senior business leaders and their functions in a fast-paced, ever changing business environment
  • Ability to demonstrate strategic and innovative thinking and execution
  • Strong change management and project management experience preferable, having worked on the delivery of key HR projects
  • People management experience, leading a team and contributing to a high-performance based culture
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels

Business acumen and commerciality: Proven ability to understand overall business objectives and work within a commercial, growth-focused business. Will have a strong network and points of view on emerging trends and HR practices that will create value for the business.

Deep strategic HR / people experience: A proven HR business partner with strengths in organisation design, change programmes, culture programmes, succession planning and strategic thinking. Will have a strong track record of investing in and developing top talent.

Delivery excellence: A track record for implementing at pace and measuring success of HR initiatives. Ability to manage change and minimise complexity. Focus on continuous improvement and adept at complex stakeholder management to ensure that the Group HR strategy is delivered in each function effectively.

People management and leadership: Strong team player with a collaborative style; a proven track record of effectively delivering through and developing an HR team. Worked cross-functionally with international teams to gain trust and buy-in with ease across the company.

Communication: Strong communicator with a logical, structured, clear, credible and mature style. Capable of quickly engaging audiences of all levels. Not afraid to challenge senior business stakeholders, including the ExCo team, where necessary.

Analytical and data-driven approach: Will evidence a metrics-driven approach to analysing the effectiveness of HR. Will have introduced deep analysis of performance, leadership, talent acquisition and retention methods and subsequently optimised methods and processes across an organisation.
