Job Title: Betfair Exchange Racing Operator – 6 month Fixed Term Contract/Secondment

Reporting Line: This role reports to the Exchange Operations Lead

Job Location/Office: Head Office, Clonskeagh Dublin

Department Overview:

Exchange Ops is a proactive, customer obsessed, data-driven team responsible for managing the day to day running of Betfair’s Exchange as well as driving the strategic development of the Exchange proposition. The team is expected to manage Exchange markets flawlessly to ensure the best possible customer experience and, working closely with teams across the business such as Trading, Product, Commercial, Marketing & Technology to devise, optimise and deliver strategies to leverage the many strengths and benefits of the Exchange for Betfair’s customers

Role Overview:

This entry-level position within the Betfair Exchange team will report into the one of the team’s Operations Leads and be tasked with the responsibility of the scheduling, creation, management and settlement of markets on the Exchange as well as some Sportsbook markets. This role will act as first point of escalation for customer queries, issue resolution, content opportunities, and customer journeys and in time may include training responsibilities. It also provides the opportunity to contribute to the evolution of the Exchange product, gain exposure and contribute to the key drivers of an effective business strategy as well as an opportunity to develop and demonstrate leadership abilities. This position can provide a solid platform for progression throughout the organisation for high performing successful applicants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the lifecycle of Exchange markets from creation through to settlement including some In-play management.
  • Execute operational best practice across Exchange Operations
  • Conduct regular and timely checks of our markets with any gaps proactively addressed
  • Act as the first point of escalation for any issues or queries related to the Betfair Exchange received via the Customer Service team and other internal teams.
  • Maintain timely and dynamic content on all platforms including banners and quicklink across multiple jurisdictions
  • Seek to improve, optimise and evolve current working practices to drive efficiency and quality
  • Support Performance Managers in the management of live projects and data analysis
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with operational teams across the business, specifically the Trading team

Essential Skills and Behaviours:

  • Be intuitive with the needs of the Customer – develop an obsession with the customer experience.
  • A good working knowledge of the Exchange and Sportsbooks as well as a passion for sport
  • Common sense, good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise intelligently
  • Bias towards ownership with great attention to detail to execute flawlessly and confidently at speed
  • Willingness to adapt to changing circumstances and work well under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to collaborate effectively
  • Analytically minded and comfortable taking a data-driven approach to understand problems
  • Inquisitive, always asking why and not stopping until the problem has been solved
  • A passion for training and coaching people
