Product Analytics Analyst

Commercial UK&I – Full Time

Department Commercial

Reports to Head of Web & Product Analytics

Location: Based in Dublin or London; small amount of travel required

Opportunity: to be part of a team that helps drive highly informed Commercial decisions that shape Product for both Paddy Power and Betfair.

Key Accountabilities

  • Support the Product Optimisation team with testing changes to our products
  • Ideation, business casing, prioritisation, data enablement and analysis
  • Manage evolving statistical techniques used in the wider analytics teams
  • Perform statistical segmentation of customers, maintaining definitions used within the business
  • Build statistical tools to help appraise business decisions: optimization, distribution fitting, monte-carlo methods and A/B tests
  • Develop statistical models to support personalisation and recommender systems
  • Data Enablement
  • Provide data where business projects require complex merging of data sources, including direct data access from APIs
  • Support the web analytics team in accessibility of product & interaction data
  • Create automated reports & dashboards measuring business performance
  • Channel/platform performance, uptake of signature products and A/B tests
  • Further coverage to meet priorities of the Insight & Analytics team

Technical Competencies

  • Must have had hands on experience with;
  • Management of analysts
  • SQL
  • Software packages used for statistical analysis (e.g. R/SPSS)
  • Prefer experience with;
  • APIs
  • Software packages used for statistical analysis (e.g. R/SPSS)
  • Data visualisation software (e.g. Tableau / Qlik view)
  • Must have a successful track record as an analyst in a high volume, data-rich, complex online business, including excellent understanding of data and analytical technical infrastructure
  • Naturally inquisitive mind-set: wants to understand behaviour, look for patterns, find great things

Desirable Qualifications/Experience/Interest

  • Essential the candidate has a highly numeric/analytical degree from a quality establishment
  • Must have an excellent understanding of the financial and operational KPIs upon which business decisions are based and against which strategic success is measured
  • Must have a strong understanding of the technology and mathematical/statistical techniques used in quantitative decision making
  • Ideally will have experience within and a passion for the industry, our products and a good understanding of how other functional teams operate
