Head of Executive Compensation

The Team

The Reward team is part of the larger Human Resources Team and looks after executive compensation, Remuneration Committee, reward and benefits within Europe, global mobility, share plans and UK, Ireland and Malta payroll.

This is a newly created role, reporting to the Reward Director and has 1 direct report, the Share Plans Manager.

Role Summary

To work with the Reward Director to advise on and manage the Executive compensation remit including the review and development of the Remuneration Policy, Executive Director and Executive Committee reward and all Remuneration Committee matters. To manage all Group share plans and lead on any remuneration matters regarding M&A activity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise on executive compensation including LTIP and bonus plan design to ensure measures and targets are aligned to the strategy
  • Manage the senior global executive compensation cycle, including obtaining and analysing market data to support decision making
  • Identify and evaluate regional views and requirements to help shape and inform overall reward strategy
  • Support the preparation and papers required for Remuneration Committee
  • Monitor and interpret new regulations and legislative developments which affect compensation and benefit plans and recommend policy changes as appropriate to ensure compliance
  • Ensure compliance with Corporate Governance requirements including drafting of the Directors’ Remuneration Report, improving readability
  • Work with the Remuneration Committee advisors as appropriate
  • Share plan design and communication, including coaching HRBPs, to assist focus in employee understanding, participation and, where relevant, link to corporate performance
  • Advising on new hire packages and buy-outs to assist in recruitment
  • Lead on remuneration related matters concerning M&A activity
  • Ensure gender pay and CEO pay ratio reporting requirements are met
  • Manage Share Plans Manager providing clear goals and objectives
  • Develop excellent relationships with the HR team and key business stakeholders
  • Deputise for the Reward Director as required

Skills & Experience

  • Experience within a large, FTSE listed business
  • Incentive design experience
  • Preparation of Remuneration Committee papers
  • Experience within a rapidly changing work environment
  • Strong drive to deliver at pace
  • Results oriented with ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to identify problems and offer pragmatic and simple solutions
  • Ability to work effectively with teams and senior managers
  • Degree qualified
  • Strong numerical and advanced analytical and Excel skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – both oral and written
  • Excellent influencing skills and credibility at senior level
  • Self-Starter
