Paddy Power is one of the leading social brands in the UK and Ireland, most recently being named the fifth-most talked about brand worldwide during the World Cup. Working within the wider Paddy Power social team this role will require you produce outstanding content across a range of social platforms on a daily-basis. The successful candidate will need to be ballsy, sharp-witted and should not need to try too hard to be funny. They’ll need to have a little bit of the madness of Diego Costa along with the toughness of Ruby Walsh…and they’ll need to know who those two people are!
Not only should the successful candidate know sport inside out, they should also be social media experts and be on top of latest trends. The role will require you to work both independently and as part of the wider social creative team on many different types of content projects across Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram and YouTube…or whatever new social media site we need to be on. The successful candidate will need to have a wide range of skills including copywriting, long-form/short-form video production, visual creative skills and will be comfortable in front of the camera. We need a social swiss army knife who can excel in many different areas when it comes to content creation!
Above all, the role requires somebody who has endless creative ideas, along with the initiative to bring those ideas to life, with the aim of increasing Paddy Power’s brand fame and consideration through owned channels. We want to hire a social media game-changer with a passion for story-telling in all its different forms. Whether it’s planning content for Instagram stories for a trip to the Super Bowl or live tweeting the World Cup final, the successful candidate will understand the Paddy Power tone of voice and will produce content which matches the high standards we set.
Social media mastery: A proven track record of developing, delivering and amplifying leading social-first content campaigns, constantly innovating, and challenging the status quo. You will be at the cutting edge of social innovation and should understand how to develop ideas and utilise all content channels to maximise impact and influence the influencers.
Sound editorial judgement: The person in this role will have a nose for a story, be on top of the news and understand what content will drive engagement. On top of this, they’ll know what topics it’s okay for Paddy Power to talk about on social and know when we need to keep our heads down and say nothing.
Brand understanding: You will need to be an expert in understanding the PP brand, what it stands for and how to reflect that in content generation to grow brand resonance and engagement.
Know your onions: You will demonstrate a genuine passion for the full spectrum of events covered by Paddy Power markets. This means that you are expected to have an extensive knowledge of sport, but you should also be able to demonstrate that you are up-to-date with a broad range of topics including news, politics and current affairs.
Proactive self-starter: You will have the ability to self-motivate and to constantly challenge the status quo, identify opportunities and champion them relentlessly.
Adobe Master: You will be an expert when it comes to working with Adobe software packages, Premier Pro, InDesign and Photoshop
Effective and efficient work style: You’ll be able to juggle multiple priorities, delivering on time and budget and keeping pace with the demands and speed of the organisation.
Up for a laugh: Your attitude should reflect the core equity of the brand, balancing a work hard, play hard approach and celebrating success when appropriate.
