Tax Analyst

Department Overview:

The tax team report to the Tax Director who reports directly into the group’s CFO and leads a high-profile tax function based in the group’s Dublin and Hammersmith offices. The team work closely with the business to understand the challenges facing the group and devise appropriate solutions to manage the group’s tax affairs.

Role Overview/Purpose:

The post holder will be responsible for assisting with indirect compliance for the group

and will report into the Senior Tax Analyst.

Key Responsibilities

Preparation and filing of betting duty returns in multiple jurisdictions

Preparation of VAT returns in multiple jurisdictions

Preparation of EC Sales Lists and statistical returns for both UK and non-UK group companies

Assist with the review and maintenance of indirect tax compliance process controls and guides for the group supporting, audit and SAO compliance requirements

Assisting in compilation of supporting documentation where required for tax/duty queries or audits.

Responsibility for maintaining monthly VAT balance sheet reconciliations for both UK and non-UK group companies

Assisting with supplier set up processes in Finance Systems and acting as a point of contact for Finance team queries with regard to this process

Supporting query resolution involving Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.

Technical Competencies

Excellent computer literacy skills, including intermediate to advanced Excel skills, and interest in understanding and resolving systems issues

Experience of Oracle E tax accounting system or similar ERP system would be a distinct advantage

Business and financial acumen with experience in financial analysis and tax reporting

Understanding of general accounting principles and good commercial awareness essential

Education, Qualifications & Experience

Effective communicator with non-technical audiences and with the maturity and diplomacy to interact with the wider business

Good organizational skills and project management skills and ability to prioritize personal workload

Strong attention to detail with ability and desire to work to tight deadlines

VAT/Tax experience is strongly preferred

Studying towards a VAT/Tax qualification is an advantage but study will be supported if desired
